Owen Borthwick
Owen Borthwick

Director/Veterinary Surgeon - BVM&S | RCVS

Owen is the owner of the practice and qualified as a vet in 1998. Owen has worked in many places such as England, Glasgow and even Australia! Owen started working at Kerr Vets in the late 2000’s and shortly after became a partner with Ian Kerr, taking over the practice in 2018 as the new owner when Ian Kerr retired. Owen was born and brought up in Kilbarchan and enjoys hillwalking, spending time with his wife and 2 young children. He also enjoys keeping in touch with his old rugby friends where he used to play rugby himself.
Arletta Kotlicka
Arletta Kotlicka

Clinical Director/Veterinary Surgeon - MRCVS

Arletta graduated in Poland in 2017, sharing experience working in both Polish and Scottish veterinary practices, and joined the Kerr Vet group team in 2019. Arletta’s interests focus around clinical pathology and she also enjoys surgery and internal medicine working in the small animal industry. Arletta loves going for long walks with her dog Laika and outside of work has a passion for DIY projects, plants and painting! Arletta loves working at Kerr Vets as she enjoys being part of a small independent family practice and caring for the pets and clients in the local community.

Amber Masterson

Veterinary Surgeon - BVMS | MRCVS

Amber graduated in 2022 and joined the Kerr Vet Group team in October 2023. Amber enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a particular interest in cardiology and surgery. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and with her two cats Paolo and Diego. Amber also enjoys watching sports, going to the gym and road trips in her spare time! Amber loves working at Kerr vets because she is able to care for so many wonderful animals with such an incredible team.

Veterinary Surgeon - BVMS | MRCVS

Michelle started as a locum vet with the practice in early 2023 and has worked at Kerr Vets as a locum until she decided to permanently join the Kerr Vet Group team in June 2024! Michelle enjoys walking trails with her family, paddle boarding with friends and Zumba! Michelle also has a great love of motorbikes but has a great fear of spiders! Michelle has a dog called L’Weegie the Lakeland Terrier who can be a little naughty and run away if he is off the lead. Michelle also has two tropical tetra fish called Jaws and Amazonia, she also has two catfish called Bill and Bob! Michelle loves working at Kerr Vet Group as she feels she works with a lovely group of people that are welcoming and really care about the animals they see every day.
Karolina MacIver
Karolina MacIver

Locum Veterinary Surgeon - BVM&S | MRCVS

Karolina graduated with a Veterinary degree from the University of Glasgow in 2017. She also holds a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and a MSc
(Masters of Research in Medical and Veterinary Microbiology) degrees from the University of Glasgow.

After graduation she gained experience working in a mixed practice in Kilbarchan and a small animal practice in Glasgow.

She completed a rotating internship at the Veterinary Specialist Scotland hospital in September 2022 where she gained valuable experience from the VSS specialist team.

Currently she is completing postgraduate qualifications ISVPS General Practitioner Certificate (GPCert) and HAU Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) in Cardiology.

Karolina shares her house with three cats Coco, Fifi and Poppy and a lurcher Benji.

Locum Veterinary Surgeon - MRCVS

Cath started with Kerr Vets in March 2020 and has 2 dogs Slinky the Saluki cross and Oday the Jack Russell. Cath also has 8 cows, 8 horses and 5 chickens! Cath is an amateur polo player and travels around the UK to complete and enjoys eating out with friends and travelling to nice places. Cath enjoys working with Kerr Vets as she enjoys working in a small independent friendly practice with a great team.
